Hi not sure if anyone is curious as to the condition of Sani Pass ......Also they still require an Antigen proof of negative Covid test...they asked for bikes license disc .....drivers licence and passport plus R75 road fee ...just so you know

I went in at Fourieberg it was tar all the way to Sani Pass then down Sani Pass was dirt and very rocky to the border post then beautiful tar from there to Himeville and Underberg....

Next day from Underberg to Swartberg then gravel road to Matatiel from there to Qachas Neck the dirt road was potholed and terrible then back into Lesotho and you pay again the R75.00 road fee then it was windy tar with a few potholes here and there all the way to Tele Bridge where i excited the same day and made my way to Aliwal North for the night

I made a visual of my Sani part of the ride

Cool thanks for the info!! Appreciate it.

Heading that way on the 8th of September. Planning to enter at Ladybrand and leave via Telle Bridge.

PCR test!!?? UGH!!! 😩

WOW man FANTASTIC, thanks for sharing.
You know your way around a big GS, hey!!!;);)

Great video of Sani! ..... shows the steepness of the gradients.
I see the switchbacks near the top have been graded.... been up there where switchbacks were just skull-sized boulders!
Well done! (y)💪😁

Damn ....
They just needed proof of vax, last 2 times I was in Lesotho (but entered at Fouriesburg).

@mother
Just realised - you rode RIGHT past my beeznees on your way to Fouriesburg!!!
I'll let it slide this time.....but ONLY this time:sneaky::LOL:

Sani Pass looks much better than May 2021. We were 10 bikes (9x GS/A, 1x KTM 1090 AdvR). Of the 10 bikes only 4 made it to the top, and 2 did not fall. Looks like they have scraped the road and trucked in soil to make it smooth again.

must say from my perspective it looked unmaintained for ages.......

Big difference in coming down Sani and going up, especially on two wheels. Up is scary on a bigger, heavier bike !
Up or down makes a tick on the bucketlist thou . 😁😁

Im guessing if you vaccinated you just need that certificate to cross into Lesotho
