The Sani is the Sani is the Sani. I cannot add to its splendor. So no video or pic coverage. On Wednesday morning, 29th I entered through the RSA side with pretty gale force wind. Grim advised on the first water crossing and it helped much. Thanx Grim. However I found the second water crossing gnarly. But, choosing lines was not easy for me. The wind was deciding my line of travel all the way up and down. I quickly learned Grim's advice on using engine braking whilst applying rear brake. Together, the tendency of the rear wheel to slide out on 'lock-up' was neutralized. I easily managed straight, rear lock-up sliding. All should practice this... unless I am just an overexcited noobie. In summary my up & down trip was in the words of Bob Dylan, 'the answer my friend is blowing in the wind'. Spiritually the Sani Pass gave me a personalised experience. My trip back via Lower Lotheni was good.

Hi Dish no, not the Transalp. My 'project bike' is a WR450F which I am customizing as a light weight adventure bike. My mean little 'Popeye' was the bike of choice. All the way from East'ish Pretoria via Standerton, Vrede etc, through Mooi River, Lower Lotheni to Himeville, Underberg to stay over at Eagle's Rock Mountain Retreat. Next day (Wednesday) went up&down Sani and straight back via Lower Lotheni to Mooi River. The WR 450 impressed me much much. My plan is to check out the conditions and hopefully go back 2-3 weeks from now to repeat Sani on my AT. Call this recent trip my 'scouting'. 😂
