Seasons greetings! And some help please.

Seasons Greetings to all my fellow 1150 GS lovers! I hope you have all had a blessed Christmas and are looking forward to a prosperous 2013!

Now my issue, every time I wash my 1150 GS water leaks underneath the filler cap and when I open it water leaks into the fuel tank.

There is a rubber seal of the cap but I can't seem to figure out why it let's water through? Any ideas as to hoy to seal this off? Or must I just avoid getting the hose near the filler cap?
