Hi all.
It is time again for those infamous Shabeen runs! It has been way too many years since our last one. So. It is time!!!
What will it entail? Well as the name states, plenty of shabeen stops and lots of beer (zamaleck, Reds, Castle, etc.). As the old group would remember, after we stopped at the first shabeen, we left it completely without stock. This continues throughout the whole day until we get back at 4 or 5 isch. It is mainly done on dirt roads and in rural areas. So this is proper shabeens.
Who should join? Well everyone that wants to meet local people and drink local beer. We do enter some real shady (really, no joke) shabeens and townships. So if you are a bit scared, just stay for the first stop. Thereafter you will lose all fear and just enjoy the day.
It is a long day and lots of miles riding. We stop about every 30 minutes so do the calculations.
The area we will start with the first one will be just outside of ...... (removed for security purposes) and ride on some serious dirt roads and some ‘twee spoor’.
So please submit names and I will in the mean time plot the track (to deviate is ok) and get the date.
We get together at the BP garage on Old Farm and Atterbury Road in Pretoria (East). The time, well, at 7:30 am as it is cold winter.
