Looking at pics of the Amegeza qualifier and Michiels Jockstrap pass and reading RRs of similar trips off the well used gravel highways, I thought a bit of a technical day ride would be a cool idea before everybody buggers off for the holidays. We'll throw in a bit of everything, rocks, rivercrossings, ruts, small hillclimbs and a bit of sand, basically just about anything you can expect to encounter off the beaten track. This ride will be do-able with just about any D/S bike but in this case size will matter and riders on the behemoths will have to work > Inexperienced riders need not feel intimidated as help and assistance will always be at hand, also the ride will not be a bike breaker just a nice slow ride for those wondering about their bikes or thier own abilities, and for the more experienced riders a lekka challenge, at your pace
DATE: 11th Dec.
Ride will start at 09h00 sharp and take about 5 hrs, so we can be back at around 2, and do the braai and beer thing, all home before dark.
We will depart from my house ( co-ords and directions will be forwarded to those participating) out the gate straight onto dirt, the trip will be 99% dirt, so those who want to bring plastics are also welcome. Departure point 7Km from Heidelberg CBD ( Gauteng)
