'Small' Varadeo versus 'Large' Varadeo headlight question

Hi WD's
I now sell most brands of Orange headlight protectors, and have a question for the Varadeo riders:

I was delivered 2 samples for display (and retail) purposes; one is labeled 'large' and the other is labelled 'small'.
There must be a less than 3% difference in size - they are near identical - see picture, so my question is when was the (minor) headlight change introduced? (model-year, etc).
