Ok well last night, me, myself and I started dismanteling my Transalp  ??? to put in the new speedo cable as my speedo and trip meter she has died on me  .

Well i can accurately report that that was not the problem, on closer inspection i tried to turn the little "piepietjie" where the cable connects into the fron wheel, its as stiff as ............. (you can fill in the balance), and doesnt want to turn.

Now i have heard apparently it could also be the little gear inside this unit that has gone, how on earth do i get in there and how difficult is it doing it? According to Honda it costs about R 286, and the complete pick-up unit is R 1000.00 a bit too much for me.

What would be the chances that replacing this little gear would solve the problem????
