My 2003 F650GS has been standing for quite a number of years and I’m trying to get it up and running again.
I put some fresh fuel in it and turned on the ignition switch and heard the pump activate and when I turned off the ignition I heard the fuel filter/pressure regulator (?) powering off (?).
I then tried to start the motor but it wouldn’t fire up.
I know that the ethanol in our petrol can cause havoc when it gets old and fuel pumps are especially vulnerable.
So I think it’s either:
1. The fuel pump
2. A blocked fuel filter/pressure regulator
3. A blocked injector
Is there a way to see if the pump is working?
Any help or advice on how to proceed from here would be appreciated.
