Thanks for starting this rider report,
@EssBee
I had a seriously lekka ride its been a while since i have felt so one and comfortable with my bike.
The route was good, 309km according to my GPS.
And all amazing dirt as well, well until after Angies G-Spot that is.
The R329 after Angies via Diepwalle and Kom se pad is pretty rough, many potholes, we both felt sorry for our bikes through there, but in my mind, throwing my weight to the rear and pinning it was just keeping my front light and I was still having a jol with less chance of messing up my front rim anywhere.
I still want to do this route in the reserve to how we did it this time, get the rough bit out of the way first and breeze through the rest.
We did have one incident, that I am still laughing about.
Nearing the end of Kom se Pad coming over a rise I was met with an old Golf 4 SW and people frantically flagging me down to stop.
5 adults, 3 seniors and 2 I would say Millenials in their 20's
The millenial asked me if I have Duct tape, which I didnt but I asked what for?
They hit a rock and put a hole in the cars sump, I told him that there is no way Duct tape is going to work, one of the seniors was under the car and as he got back out he proudly stated that he had put bubblegum in the hole, I smiled and politely told them that there is no way either of those will work, if anything Pratley steel would, but we didnt have any, also they had no oil, so even if fixed they were still going nowhere.
I advised them to get a tow, and also advised them to not attempt to drive out of there as they would wreck the engine.
Duct Tape or bubblegum to fix a hole in your sump, I think I have heard it all now
The next ride is already being planned in my head, will have to twist SImons arm again to drag him along, he might be upset with me after my detour over the Red Bridge caused him to put a dent in his Exhaust Can.
Here is a screenshot of the route that we took
