Hi guys.
Just a word of advice. 6 weeks ago I put a new front and rear sprocket plus "X" ring chain on my 1000. I could not buy the after market sprocket from the regular dealer I use, and I ended up buying an aluminium rear sprocket from somewhere else.
Now my Strom is not standard, I use a 530 chain instead of a 525, an 18 tooth front sprocket from a Hyabusa, and a 40 tooth rear from an SV1000 (this changes the gearing quite a bit a makes the bike rev less and makes it better for long distances)
Yesterday I replaced the rear sprocket again! It had done 1200 kays. I can only assume that the aluminium sprocket that I was supplied for the SV1000 was so soft it wore out, forming beautiful wave patterns like a steel sprocket that had done 15 000 kays. Lesson learnt, don't but aluminium unless you really need the 200 gramme weight saving
