KLR off course :!:
My very good riding bud gave me a call this morning just as I was enjoying my first cold one. (Yes, I am still on leave) He hit a brick on the highway, just before the Grayston offramp and faarked up his front rim. Seeing my Bantam is being used by my sister in law, since her car was taken and pranged during the robbery, there was only one thing to do, load up the tools and go help.
Damage to the rim was quite severe, but a few well aimed blows with a 4 pound hammer sort of straightened it enough to get going again. The strange thing about the whole episode was that although he was stopped right next to the highway, no-one even bothered to stop and offer assitance. The only bike that seemed to care was a guy on a Dakar, but by that time we already had the wheel on and were inflating the tyre.
So it turns out my little 12v pump works very well. Tyre was inflated to 2 bar
Michnus, that $2 topbox works great as a jack to keep the front wheel up
