No worries, ons kry mekaar eendag op die pad en vat 'n kouetjie saam.  Lekker naweek.

Just a thought....om met 'n trailer en plastics te gaan en die roete te doen gaan nie dieselfde wees nie. Dammit mens sal 'n chopper op standby in die geheim moet he en dit dan gaan doen soos julle wou met net jou bike en makkers, die risiko is die ding wat dit sal great/stupid/noodlottig  maak.

Laat ek raai Nismark het vir Dusty Rusty verlang dus die eitnlike rede vir die omdraai  >

Wat van om n backup voertuig te vat met n lang winchkabel en dan doen julle dit met dieselfde fietse. :mwink:

Is very possible

I know that I need to be fitter and lighter - gonna have to hit Tokai forest on my MTB every day for a few months months - pedal my arse off and practise technical low speed riding

Any decent bakkie with diff lock will get to the start of road to hell - however you will need a serious 4X4 to actaully drive the ROAD and be able to get back out again

I would just like to say thank you to every one of the guys on the ride it was awesome to ride with each one of you. I will rather ride a trip with any of you then sit in a office any day.  :ricky:

To Michiel and Heddles. You guys are tough buggers to ride as well as you did being in so much pain. Well done.

Manne los nou daai pad uit....as iemand die blerrie pad eendag gaan oorwin sal dit beteken ek moet dit mos darem ook TRY, en ek wil dit rerig nie doen nie....ek het ook al daar af geloer en ek kry hoedervleis as ek dink hoe my bike gaan lyk na die probeerslag. Een ding is seker...as jy nog nie daar was en gesien het hoe dit lyk nie kan jy jouself rerig nie probeer oortuig van hoe ongerep en hopeloos onmoontlik die HELL ROAD lyk nie....
Manne julle is almal ysters in my boek en ek dink julle het n wyse besluit geneem om die stukkie godsverlate paadjie n mis te gee, want daar sal man en fiets sy heiland ontmoet. Volgende keer maak ons n trip soontoe en ons vat BAIE wyn saam dan kamp ons bo by die pad se begin en as ons almal lekker ge-wyn is dan vertel ons mekaar van hoe maklik ons dit sou kon doen toe ons almal so n paar jaar jonger was voordat Gout en rumatiek en hoe brandstof pryse ons gebriek het...of hoe??

Till now I have been in disbelieve ! In the back of my mind I was holding out the hope that you guys wer shitting us about not attemting that road! I know how tough Michiel and Dusty are and I know how tough and COMPETITIVE you are ROVRAT ! You guys made the right descision , but I know you will be back and I know that road will be conquered :thumleft:

There is an old abandoned mine down there that you can visit.

– a pass built by prospectors for mining vehicles in the ’50s ... and since then, no maintenance.  :mwink:

We will not try to conquer Road-to-Hell again because the campsite and riverfront are not a place to take people you actually like and the road itself is nearly non-existent. It took us 4 hours to cover the last 200m! Not again.

It seems, on average, it takes a 4x4 between 9 and 24 hours to conquer the 12 km..
