That's a Blockhouse from the 2nd Anglo Boer War, a not too nice reminder of the atrocities that took place then....

Jirre Dirk, you rode a enduro, that's about how tough you made your own trip.  But what a true solo offroad trip, a lot ventured and a lot gained.

Those blockhouses, hundreds of them, were built by the British during the guerilla phase of the Angle Boer war, to protect the railway line and it's bridges.

Sadly, a lot of them is left to return to earth, the one outside Wellington being a shocking example.

Your and Burp's info spurred me to google the blockhouses. I'm ashamed to say it's a part of our history that I have little knowledge of, and the  info I found regarding these blockhouses is very interesting, indeed.

Jy het n GS buff en hemp aangehad  :eek7:  Sy poison werk stadig. Jy behoort sleg te begin voel oor so n week of twee en dan baie siek tot jou eiers heeltemal opdroog :eek7: :lol8:

Maar OomD behoort aan't herstel te wees met die KTM wat so lekker loop.
