Ok. As usual my ride reports will have a lot of pics. This one will have very few words as I am quickly doing it before going to bed.
I rode through to WOA Somerset via Stellenbosch and just had to stop for a pic or two on the way.
From WOA we did Rooiels and on towards Karwyderskraal
And then did a lekker technical stukkie on the Paardevlei pad.
Some more water crossings
In Caledon we had some food and a lot of talking nonsense.
We also got do an epic water crossing. 900m of water up to at least 500 mm deep in places.
Geelkameel's GS swallowed some water and was not feeling to well. Stoetie went to go and help push the bike to dry ground.
Between Marcal, Superten and myself we got the GS going again.
Back on the tar road Stoetie gave us a nice wheelie
We regrouped on the Theewaterskloof bridge
ANd then made our way to the bash.
Much fun was had by all.
Sunday morning I packed my goodies and made some plans for some solo helmet time.
First stop was to go and see the famous flooded bridge. By this time the water had subsided a lot and I am sure it was manageable.
But I was heading the other way. I wanted to go and have some brekkie in Greyton.
I have a thing for Raptors. Wish they would sit still so I can get closer.
Some pics along the way
Brekkie in Greyton
Aand then I made my way towards L'Aghulas to go and see Jo Rust finish her Round Africa trip.
I was joined by Bailey for the return trip.
Had a lekker burger at Lizette's in Hermanus
In Gordon's Bay I finally found the noise that was bothering me for the last 500km. It was not my chain as I thought but my Sprocket carrier bearings on the rear wheel that seized !
With some friendly recovery by Nismark I made it home by 19:00 .
Now I need to sort out that Sprocket carrier ASAP
