I am young, so I should love all the new tech coming to the bikes. But goddamn it! In my opinion people are becoming gadget obsessed.

Colleague of mine sold his Hayabusa the other day ( After I convinced him to buy it since he was looking for a fast bike ) simply because it did not have ABS.

Another colleague just sent back his K12GT because it did not have a electronic tire pressure monitor and according to him it was a MAJOR buying factor!

Don't get me wrong... it's NICE to have all these toys, and I am sure I would like the comfort that they provide, but honestly, if you STOP riding because you don't have one of them, I don't think you love bikes enough. Horses for courses and all, and this is my opinion. How do you guys feel?

Other people’s motorcycle start-up procedures:

Switch off alarm,
Put Lase cut transponder Key in ignition
Check warning lights
Check electronic fuel gauge if there’s petrol
Make sure ABS is on
Switch on heated grips
Switch on heated seat
Make sure electronic suspension is set just right.
Check tire pressure electronically.
Enter route into Garmin
Switch on Bluetooth headset
And leave.

Mine.
Visually check tires while walking to bike
Sit on bike and listen if fuel is still sloshing around
Put key or any blunt object in ignition.
Check kill switch
Open fuel tap
Apply some choke
Kick and go!

Oh how the times have changed.
