Tools - what makes??

I'm looking to buy a socket (maybe with additional tools in a little set) set - 3/8 size. Don't want to buy the expensive Gedore etc makes, but also not the thin shit that breaks easily. What makes to you suggest to buy as a economical alternative without sacrificing to much in quality??? Who do I buy it from??? - dealers??/
