I need some assistance and there seems to be a lot of knowledge about rebuilding trailers on this forum.
While Stoeteing my prime example of BOTY down on a Bikelug trailer, I lost a mud guard and the other one is cracking as well. Seems the plastic mudguards start cracking right next to the metal plate securing it to the axle, and the crack then separates the mudguard from said trailer.
My question is this: why does so few other trailers use plastic mudguards and is this cracking a common issue with plastic mudguards?
Second question: if I use metal guards what would the risk be?
I'm traveling back up on Friday and if I'm pulled over for not having a guard I'm just going to take it like a man.
