Travelling into Zim,Malawi and Mozambique on a learners licence

Is this a really bad idea? A bunch of us are doing the trip but are we waisting our time as only 2 out of a group of 7 have licences the rest have learners? Might we be turned away at the borders or worse if we were involved in an accident be detained?
