I am not impressed at all by the Rally but I will wait and see if something else comes along.

I just got her back from the service at Honda and will now upgrade the shock at Offroad cycles. Once I have a bit more clarity about what direction my life is taking I’ll decide.
I hope you did not compare it to a KTM690 :D Must say I did a lot of solo trips and really rated the 250 Rally. But to each his own.

Thanks Takashi

I’ll take the Rally out on more trips. She is going to Honda for her first official service tomorrow.
I have done an oil and filter service last week before the trip and we have covered about 900km’s over the weekend so not needed but if I decide to sell I can let her go with a full service history which some buyers value.

Who knows, might keep her. Time will tell.
My advice to anyone in the market; go do an extensive test ride before you commit. I bought after watching youtube reviews and other members and owners experience.
That’s my own fault 🤣
Cheers mate
The 300 has its place, but in my opinion you need to be on the lighter side, with minimal luggage if you are riding deep sand.
I am 73kg and seldom have more than a Nomad 26liter duffel bag on the bike.
That said it takes a while to get up on the sand and deep patches are best approached with a bit of momentum and a gear "in hand'
KTM 500 has few peers in sand tho and the fun factor is off the chart.
Tony the Boney on the forum is selling a DR 650 for a very reasonable price if that tickles your fansy ito old school thumper style.

Thanks for the report.

Yes sir!
Although the KTM on the ride was Xpat’s pimped 690 (long range gearbox) and not his 500.
However, no matter how technical it got, the KTM remained tons of fun😎
