Pack Dog
I made a last minute decision yesterday to take a early morning ride on a route that was discussed a couple of days ago on the forum. Woke up this morning with thick mist outside, was tempting not to stay in bed with my misses . Jumped out of bed and made myself a good strong coffee with some rusks, packed my day bag with all the necessary survival tools likeke water etc. Got thick mist all the way towards Strand and riding into the clouds on Sir Lowry's.
What a great route, from Blouberg area to Strand and from there my actual route started over Sir Lowry's pass, went off the n2 onto the Elgin valley rd, to the more technical 'jeep track' between the n2 and railway towards Botrivier, van der Stel pass towards the Lambrecht's rd taking me to Franschoek and finally the Pniel / Stellenbosch rd taking me back home. Had a jol of a morning and still in time for a lekka lunch and a few cold beers with my misses.
This is definately one of many routes that I will definately do more often. My dakkie cruised like a dream and very easy to handle especially on that 'more technical' piece with rocks and sand mix. The views just gets better as you go along.
Already dreaming of my next exploring mission :drif: eepwall:
