van Wyksdorp to Oudtshoorn

We are planning a little trip though the southern cape next week from Cape Town to George.

Is the road from van Wyksdorp to Oudtshoorn open all the way or do we require permission from land owners and/or permits from Cape Nature as it seems to go though Groenfontein Nature reserve?
