Waterpump pushing out oil

Hi guys. My 800 pushed out oil where the water cooler goes into the engen. My mechanic tells me this is the the seals on the waterpump on its way out.

Have any other dogs had something similar on their bikes? I am not sure if this is regular on the 800's? See attached photo. This is on te right hand side of the bike under the side cover...
