Started from Engen 1 Stop N1 , ,We left at 08h30
Engen to Franshoek pass, Theewaterskloofdam , Van der Stel pass (half way)
Hawston View Road, to Dassiesfontein,
Breakfast,
dirt to Highlands road, to Grabou , to Kuilsriver and home
Gee , the Engen Garage on a Sunday morning is quite a specticle.
With many road bikes gathering , and getting ready for their various rides,
Some dressed just in jeans , takkies and a leather jacket, there with all the right kit, with that no sleeve denim jacket , showing all the badges of previous rides,
There are some with their full leathers, knee pads and race looking bikes, looking like they took a wrong turn somewhere, and got the the wrong start for a Motor GP !
The BlackBirds bike club getting ready for their ride to Ceres
But the Adventure riding guys seem to have got it all right, All the ridding kit , bikes all kitted out with the latest in crashbars, spotlights and new tyres,
The Adventure guys , are in the wimpy getting a quick breakfast or some coffee, sitting at tables, while the road bikers stand in a que for a toasted sarmie and a take away coffee.
And my group , Only Boere and his pillion / wife pitched,
But , its an awesome day for riding and Im eager to go.
Ian(Boere) doesn't waste any time on his Brand new BMW GS1200 / Leaving his big KTM 990 to sulk at home in the garage.
But , Wifey loves the comfort of the BM , and thats what sounds, keeping wifey happy , gives you more seat time in this beautiful land of ours.
Not to busy , Franshoek Pass, weather, a little bite in the air over the pass , but once on the dirt, quiet all the way to Dassiesfontein for a hearty breakfast.
Boere and Christa on his new BMW GS1200
Whitedelight joined us there, also leaving his Ktm990 at home and coming through on his Harley, Oilspill alo came through on his Triumph Tiger,
Boere calls him Oiliekol, Lol !
Had a lekker breakfasts then dirt all the way to the Highlands road with , Boere and Oilspill, on through Grabou, Sir Loureys and on toe Kuils River,
Thanks Ian , Paul and Andrew for joining.
