Thanks for the report Lakkie.

Yes, it was the negative battery terminal that rattled loose.
Luckily I came upon the problem first thing the next morning.

The route we did is excellent riding. Nothing technical. I wouldn't recommend it for a novice on a 1000cc bike though, as there are some ascents, descents and sand that might be challenging.

Take enough water and fuel as you are quite alone in the Tankwa.

:thumleft: Cool RR. Thanks.  High five to Eggs challengers!

Brilliant bikes, innit?

Love mine to bits. I swore at her when she died on me, but then when I found the loose terminal I realised it was MY OWN mistake.
So I promised her a decent lube-job and some serious TLC when we get home.
She is currently standing in the garage in a serious state of undress.
A man has got to keep his promises.
;D

Slakkie - there is no cellphone reception in the Tankwa and most parts of the route we did.
80km from Ceres reception dies and only comes on again in Middelpos.
But dont worry, if you are stranded there you wont die if you have enough water to last you 12 hours.
