During a ride out to Vredendal, on the road between Piketberg and Elandsbay, my 3700km old X country's rear shock broke off just below the damp rate adjuster and left me almost totally stranded!
Totally not on - my wife's 50cc's shock will probably never break!!! for crying out laud!!!!!
OK what to do now, do i let BMW put another SACHS shock in of the same type or do i try to get something else? Are there other types of shocks available for a X Country?
I always promoted BMW bikes to everyone and now i am the one with a red face (still think F800 GS is the coolest thing on 2 wheels though)
Please any advice would be appreciated
(Any other inferior parts i should look out for on the X Country that can drop me)?
Thanks for all the help from my new Vredendal friends. (Great bunch of biker friends I've seen in a long time)
