I was wondering if anyone might have some advice, I know very little about my bike, here goes the problem:
I have an XTR660 with about 24,000 km on the clock.
Lately I have started noticing that when cruising a lower speeds (typically in town when not accelerating or braking) it feels as if the chain tightens and relax constantly but when accelerating this dissapears. Also when riding at speeds higher than 100km/h it's gone too.
In my uninformed opinion I would think it might be the hub damper that needs replacing but I'm not ruling out a worn chain (seems to be almost at the limit where it has to be replaced)
I'll appreciate it if anyone can perhaps shed a bit more light on the matter and perhaps tell me if there are any other things to look out for?
Might also add that it feels like the shift from neutral into first has become a lot more jerky, not sure if this might relate to the same problem.
