MJ , thanks to you and Hennie for an awesome RR.
Your RR`s are very inspiring , we all just want to take leave now and head for Zambia.

And to think we never actually take pics of the real kak part of the ride , because we are tying to stay on our bikes.

I`m sure it was even more difficult than the pics portray.
For that kind of trip , I think the mental strength is what will carry you through all those hardships.
So well done , pity the RR is over , I really enjoyed it.

See you at the bash.

That was f@cking awesome reading as usual MJ, well done to you and Hennie! Big respect to you guys! :eek7:

I know Tsetsi flies well having spent enough time in the Zambezi valley, I have been munched on, punctured and abused by these flies enough to know what you guys went through, they are by far the worst ******* insect that I have ever encountered. For those of you that have been bitten by Horse flies, the bite is as painful, only thing is you are being bitten the whole time, sometimes 2 to 3 at the same time, and they bite you through your shirt and clothes! Unbelievably irritating and totally uncomfortable. One thing I learned about them, is that they are attracted to certain colours, blue being their favorite colour! Lucky none of you were riding a Yami!

wow, bloody awesome RR..

makes me miss home a lot.. I used to work in Zim, Zam, Bots etc.. I miss the people and the veld..

well done guys, quite a trip by the looks of it..

MJ  Great Report!!

Do you have a contact number where one can buy one of those strechers?

The pics are great, but the quality of the writing is what makes MJ reports a winner.
And I love the way I can pick up bits of info along the way, like the Baobab tree disintergrating back into the bush, because it is fibrous.
The big surprise of course, was discovering you guys had pontoons with you.
I would have been less surprised if you had suddenly pulled a hovercraft out of your boot.  :imaposer:
Years ago Aussie riders going to Cape York used to float their bikes across a couple of the (now bridged) rivers using semi-trailer truck inner tubes.
I understand what a chore it is to produce a long RR like this. Up-load pics to a photo-hoster, then linked back to the ride site, then the dialogue added as the story progresses...but thanks MJ...Linda and I have been reading this RR all night and loving it.
The little things, like the Chameleon you rescued, the two pigs cooling off in the mud, the native women singing into the night and of course Hennie almost parking up next to the lions...thanks for detailing it all.

Cheers: Jaq. :study:

I AM ALMOST LOOSING IT IN MY OFFICE NOW!I NEED TO BE THERE. it is so awesome looking at these pics. I love it!

This truly is the stuff of legends...

Do we now need like special badges or handshakes to buy you blokes a beer?
No but you need a good liver :peepwall:

Wow guys!!! Inspiring  ;D

Just when I think "I wanna go do it!!!" Something really crap happens to you guys, but then I read on and the smile creeps back again.... ****, wanna go do it someday  :thumleft:

Awesome stuff guys, doesn't get any better (or worse) than that. But I guess that's where the love come in.... You have bad days, but it always gets better and worth it all! Right?  ;)

Hats off to you....

Amazing trip and report!

WildDog should look into setting up a book with all the best ride reports. I always find it easier to read long texts in book form rather than on a PC screen. Obviously with all the pictures it might be quite costly to print though.

thankx MJ and hennie................Just so brought back Africa to me.........narrative made me almost smell the african bush...its been too long for me... I wanna come home.
Just take it from me if fellow WD;s you are in the area, just get out and do it - or something similar because it aint always going to be there like that, something to tell yor grandkids.........and I wish I had done it at the time.

Top Shelf stuff guys.

Good reading, excellent photo's and such a spirit of ADVenture.

How do you rate the local beer in Zambia?
