The reason for this post is that there was some interest expressed at the Tankwa area as a destination for a WC bash. ;D
So I would like to put the feelers out for possible interest to revisit this topic.
(Not in any way trying to create a 'Bash' type event)
Date: 19-22 September
Leave CT on Friday and stay over 2 nights at Die Mond (35km's from Tankwa Karoo Nat Park)
For day rides on the Saturday there are some wonderful routes in this area:
- A shortish circle route to Sutherland via Ouberg pass and back via Middelpos (Ganagapass).
- Traverse the width of the Tankwa park - there should still be flowers around.
- If you feel brave you can even go over Katbakkies Pass over to Wuppertal and back via Uitspankraal.
I'm not planning on making any sort of arrangements so dont get the wrong idea here.
I would like to see that you take on your bike what you need for this weekend (except for firewood of course)
Pretty much each man for himself.
I plan to leave Tankwa on Sunday morning and head for Verneukpan - hopefully camping there that night.
If anybody have details on this as an option please pass it on.
Obviously if you want to join for this leg your welcome.

From there I will be heading further into the Northern Cape for the rest of the week - destination unknown thus far.
