Another epic ride put together by [member=4453]Just Blip It![/member] . Some very challenging tracks, jaw dropping scenery and great company made this one of the best rides ever.......

Pics and videos by the group....

A WhatsApp from Mark on a Tuesday asking: “Do you want to ride this weekend?”  can only mean one thing - some serious adventure riding. I initially declined as I already had plans to ride with my daughter on Saturday, but when that fell through I let Mark know that I’m keen on Wednesday. None of the other local boys could make it or maybe they were put off by the invite which stated that they would be in for two days of hardcore riding....[emoji48][emoji48] Mark invited Colin Morris , or Colon Doris as he is affectionately know to his closest friends....

I sent an invite to [member=8559]trevo[/member]  whom I met on a Namibia trip two years ago. We have kept in touch since and rode together at LDBA last year.  Trevor was keen on joining the ride and we made arrangements to meet up at Mountain Aloe Den, our accommodation for the weekend which is located a few hundred metres from the Josefsdal border post to Swaziland.

With my bike prepped and food, clothes and kit packed, I was counting down the hours to when Mark would pick me up on Friday afternoon.

Our accommodation was self catering and out in the sticks so our only option was to load bikes on a trailer to enable us to transport food and petrol for the weekend. Mark picked me up just after 13:00 on Friday. We filled bikes and jerry cans just before Barberton, we stopped for lunch at The Schnitzel Haus.

We arrived at Mountain Aloe Den and went about unloading and unpacking. Trevor and Colon would only arrive from Gauteng later that evening.

We had a couple of beers and enjoyed the spectacular views over Swaziland and the Makhonjwa  Mountains

I lit the fire for that evening’s braai, but it soon became apparent  that the weather would not play along..... the wind picked up, fog moved in and and  that  was it, there would no braaiing.....

We moved the fire into the coal stove in the kitchen. The other two eventually arrived and I started supper on the stove

The next morning we were greeted by fog blowing over the mountain and every thing was wet.

It was Colon’s turn to prepare a meal.

It was really cold and miserable when we left Mountain Aloe, but as soon as we descended into the valley, conditions improved and it turned out to be a perfect day for riding with overcast conditions and temps in the low 20s for most of the day
