This thread is worthless without pictures!!
There I said it, now as soon as I've learnt how to I will down load them. In the meantime  the other WD's who went with will hopefully show there pics.
From George Smitdy and I the PE dogs MR.T BMWPE Nemo and Gunter. We departerd from my house at 12 on Saturday, first the shops for those that needed supplies.Montague Pass to Amandas Grave fist stop, Perdepoort then a left to get to the Oudtshoorn road onto Zebra and Mount Hope over to the Kandelaars River. A quick stop at the inside farm to let the farmer know that we are on our way a touch of tar then the dirt road towards Paardebont. In about a 140 km only about ten of those were on tar not bad hey. Plaas pad twee spoor and the cave is in sight, but to get there is a different story firstly I take on the hill "and with a little help from my friends" I make it. Next MR.T here we take of the panniers and up he goes. Smitdy left his bike just there and hopped onto the old farm bakkie, offload the bakkie and down we go to fetch the others. Nemo and Gunter decided to leave thier bikes at the bottom and BMWPE tackeld the little hill on the corner he also needed a push.
Everyone up and off to the cave here David has done a very nice job on setting up facilities, basic but the toilet (flush) has a veiw. The cave was used by bushmen in the past evidence of this is the rock art paintings that adorne parts of the walls.
Well everyone braaied and had a great party.    More to follow watch this thread.

After this I was in too much pain to even think of taking pics.

Big thanks to Mr. T for the pain killers, and Wave Rider for checking up on me in George.

What's this?

For those of us that were there, what can I say, but thanks for a great weekend.
Foe all the others you get to see the Pics, a little bit of chit chat.

What a suprise for us when we had to ride the last piece up the mpountain.
No pics to tell the truth so far but with determination & some good efford
from the other dogs 3 of us made it to the top.
A relaxed evening of braai, stories & other interesting bangs all went off well.

This is the biggest open mouth cave that I have seen. At least 50 meters wide at the mouth,
30 meters high and 30 meters deep. Awsum to sleep in & what a view.

The ride back we split into two groups & had the wind on our backs.
I will be back next year soon.

For now it is the Lion rally with a piece of dirt up , some more dirt on satrerday,
and finally some dirt on Sunday home. Nice.  8)

might not need help  :-[

The HP2?

Then a TransAlp will never make it!

if you check the pics there is a sharp turn to right on the loose stuff
as long as you can keep momentun on turn you should make it
With the HP should be better not so heavy  ;D

So when you going ?

Yup. Just ask Michnus and Bobnob. A bike (like mine) that's over 200kg with a 19" front wheel basically can not even go off tar. It will fall apart and explode critically injuring the rider. And that's just of the tar onto the level gravel next to the road. ;D

Bikes like that are kak and klaar and not made for gravel at all. Except a GS of course. These "restrictions" never apply to a BMW. ;D Funny guys Michnus and Bobnob :D

I better not risk taking a TransAlp there. Just think what might happen to their reputations. ;) Those two are always good for a laugh :D
