I am sure with all of us 1190/1290 owners have the same problem with the rear tyre going square . I used to only fir Metz Tourance 1 tyres on my bike and they gave me plenty kilos before noticeably going square . Due to know more stock I fitted a Kenda big block paver , have about 5000 ks on it , did a trip to Mosselbay - Saldana -Mosselbay and back home in December , so lots of highway , fairly high cruising speed and my rear is noticeably square .
I recon i can get maybe another 5000 on it before I need to replace , but that said I have a itch . Just before departing I decided to fit a new front . B T Warehouse helped with a Motoz gps front , said it was a good match for the rear , honestly I was sceptical , looked more off-road than trail . but was pleasantly surprised , good grip , and positive feedback .
This has me wanting to fit a rear asap , reason being that with the Paver I experienced wheel spin under acceleration wet tar , nothing serios but to the extent that I was hesitant going into corners on my trip . Slowly pushed it and the tyre gripped , big smile on the dial going down Montagu pass , thinking back , I was enjoying myself , and possibly forgot I had panniers on , dont know how close I got to touching one , but the chicken strip was about a cm from the edge and the p[aver is wide .
What is the review on the Motoz gps rear? Does the 1190 make them square as well and if yes then what sort of mileage before noticeable ?
