Any advice on cracked rear master cylinder connector?

The plastic connector on the rear master cylinder (#13159) is cracked and needs to be replaced. What are the chances of finding a spare one for sale? Do I otherwise have to order one?

I removed the pilot screw without counting the turns.  ::) Is there a set of turns? How do I know if the O-ring is intact?

    colour of frame

With the airbox out and the subframe off, it's a good time to touch up the frame of the fugly. Can't see a thread about the paint code for a 2007 fugly, and the GF's pantone chart shows some possibilities ) see pics #428, # 429, #877 U. But a code would be so much easier. Is there one?

    what now? Indicator trouble shooting

To make a long story short, I've been battling to solve a mystery indicator problem on the 2007 KLR. All the other electrics work, including the horn and headlight dim/bright switches on the same assembly. The globes are all OK, and the earth connections seems good. I unplugged the harness and...

    indicator trouble shooting

The indicators stopped working and I hope it's not the switch on the left handle bar that's the problem. I've checked the connection under the fairing, bulbs are all OK, and I've even replaced the flasher unit, to no avail. All the other electrics are working, including the hooter button on...

    Choke cable advice please

I noticed something wrong with the choke cable and discovered that the cable is not sliding free in the casing. I'm trying to loosen it with penetrating oil, but no luck. Worse case scenario is having to replace it and from previous experience, removing the nut that attached the cable to the...

    What value for XR600R?

A mate who is not a WD is parting with his 1983(?) XR600R, but he has no idea of its value. I've posted it under the for sale board, if anyone is interested.

    XR600R for sale

A mate who is not a WD member is selling his XR600. It needs work, mostly cosmetic (indicators, headlight lenses, exhaust side cover, etc), but is in sound mechanical condition and everything works.  The mileage at just under 34 000 km is genuine. He has owned it since 1983 when he bought it as...

    What am I missing? SORTED

I had a bad fall some time ago, bike came down on the left side.  I'm getting it going agiain, and all is good, except the motor cuts out as soon as I engage gear. I suspect it has to do with the side stand cut-out switch, so I have bypassed it. But it makes no difference, it still cuts out? Any...

    Suddenly, the electrics died ....

Somewhere down a rutted track, the electrics suddenly stopped working. This I didn't notice till I wanted to signal a left turn, and then saw the tacho also stopped working. I rode home, and wasn't able to turn off the iginition and had to use the kill button. The fuses check out, the battery...

Still think electric adventure riding is a pipe dream? Think again ...

Sometime next month, three riders - one of them a woman - are embarking on a trip from the tip of North America to very bottom of South America on KTM 950s converted to electric power. Here's the link: https://www.advpulse.com/adv-bikes/expedition-electric/

    wind shiled for fugly wanted

I am looking for a short (original?) wind screen that fits a 1989 KLR. I have the tall version but don't like it and would be willing to swap, otherwise pay for the short one.

stuck speedo, can it be reset?

Both the trip meter and mileage counter never worked since I bought the bike. So, I've taken apart the speedo clustere to lubricate the plastic gears with silicon grease. The gears look in decent shape and I hope the grease will do the trick. I also thought about resetting the mileage counter...

    WARNING: Check pasport stamp!

On Sunday, I had a most unpleasant experience at the Lesotho border post at Sani Pass. The issue was that, on my way down, the border post staff could not find the stamp in my passport from the previous day when I had entered. So, I paged though it also, and blow me down, there is the South...

let's give credit where its due

Not sure whether this post belongs here, but it's about the attribution of articles lifted elsewhere. I could be wrong in the case of WD, but generally speaking, the practice is to post a link to whatever story one wants to repost, and not the article itself. Even a vague attribution doesn't...

Rare gem ... not so immaculate XL185

People may remember the first notice about this bike on behalf of a lady friend .... anyway, she is the second owner, the bike mechanically is in good condition, kick starts easily, runs nicely, all the electrics work. Mileage no more 20 000 km, speedo was replaced some time ago. Registration in...

    Am I being over ambitious?

I've come across 650 GS under a tarpaulin. It's seems mostly complete and in reasonable condition, but lacks the front end (forks, wheel, caliper) but it does has the cowling and instrument cluster. Questions are: what will the missing components cost; is it better to sell off the parts; or walk...
