I have to agree about SA border control, they are the pits...everywhere. When I crossed over at Bray last month on my trip I also got crap on the SA side. They have a lot to learn!!!

Perhaps we should approach someone in power regarding this? Perhaps the Tourism department.....?

Well I have written in their "suggestion boxes" but i think that stuff gets thrown in the trash. As for a higher power, they're probably worse!
All I do is say as little as possible and just get thru it as quick as possible. :thumleft:

8SAI today is not how I remember it. Left there in Dec '78 to go to the border. Returned about 6 months later to clear out and spent the rest of my 2 years in Ondangwa. When I did my basics, we slept in tents. That place gets cold at night. Riemvasmaak was our training ground. (Hell on earth) and that "bok kop". Guys used to say: " vir elke bok-kop, tel die meisies hulle rok op" :-[
The only permanent buildings were the HQ and the PF's houses. When I returned to clear out they had started building bungalows.
The jail is just past the camp and Upington airport had the longest runway in the country. The only place the Concord could land in the SA of then.
Blood sweat and tears, but good ol days. :thumleft:
