On a trip to Phalaborwa this weekend the following happened.
I have a 2006 GS which I use primarily for dirt roads. It was serviced in November, new plugs, fluids and air filter. I did about 3000km's since then. I did a long trip in Feb to and around Sabie, all fine. Drove to Phalaborwa on Thursday, all fine. Tank on reserve, fill it up and drove around slowly in town the next morning. When I opened the the throttle suddenly, out of town, it stuck its nose in the ground and misfires.
If you open the throttle gradually it pulls fine , even to full throttle. As I have knobblies I cannot say that it will do 200 but it reaches 140. As long as you open the throttle gradually.
I need to mention that it also backfires a bit when I decelerate.
I initially thought it was the fuel.... I drove back to Pretoria yesterday, filled up twice....no change.
Can anybody please indicate where I should start looking??
