a High Mileage Dakkie (BMW 650 Dakar) came to visit us this Sat morning...
Morne (Dexter on W.D.) has 235,000km on the bike, without opening the engine - impressive!
He has replaced the 'usual 2 suspects': the nylon water-pump impeller, which usually gives out at around 80,000, he replace his around 190,000!
and the other fix he has done is steering-head bearings; they need replacing when they get 'notchy'.
But other than that, bike is running sweet!
He started riding DAILY when he was laid off during the 1st days of shut-down, and has not stopped travelling since.
Nice seeing a TALL guy on a 'simple' bike, getting out there and doing it!
