Dankie vir al die replies sover.

Ek stem 110% saam oor die feit dat ons ons eie land meer moet "besoek" - slegs my opinie.

Sal later vandag weer kiekies opsit - moet net so bietjie dinge in en om die huis doen.

DAY 8 Saturday – 2014-12-27

Wake up the morning and the kids said they have the last surprise for us – wine tasting!!  :drif:  :drif:

We have never done that before as I would not go to a place I don’t know and asking silly questions.  But the kids know everything, and we just followed.

We all realized that today is the last day and whatever we do, we cannot turn the clock back.

First we went to Hidden Valley and thereafter to Spize Route.

The service was good and so the food.  We left as lazy tourists just following the nose of the car

I think the place is a museum on it's own.

Food for thought - cannot remember if it was real or not, although I asked  :bueller:

Celestte told us that they only drink one bottle of wine during a day, and normally it was a small as this bottle. :ricky:

and I was shocked

Went outside and strolled around, eating ice cream and bought home made chocolates.

DAY 9 Sunday – 2014-12-28

Life is good, but sometimes you have to face reality.  Time to go.

Wake up, had a shower, breakfast and then packing and get the bike started……  :'(  :-\  :-[

We had two options – going on the N1 towards Worcester, or going there via the old road.  We opt for the latter option.

Our destination for today is Koedoeskloof, but the plan is to meet Lem and Anmar close to Swellendam.

So off we go  . . . . .

Bye bye - see you soon  :'(  :'(  :'(

Had a rooster koek with Lem and Anmar before we left for Barrydale via Tradouw Pass.

Rest to follow tomorrow . . .

We left on the N2 towards a turn-off where we would go to Barrydale via Suurbraak & Tradouwpass.

At one stage we stopped next to the road and we saw this - it looks like an orange that has been dried out???  Can somebody please tell us what kind of plant it is?

After Suurbraak it was the beautiful Tradouwpass.  The scenery never disappoints a person. At Swellendam etc, it was "cold" and "light drizzle" from time to time, but on the other side of the mountain, the sun was shining and we had blue skies.

I wonder how many of these we saw next to the road.  :-[

Lem and Anmar told us that we have to visit the Diesel & Crème in Barrydale.  What a place.  A milkshake "uit die boeke"!!

Had a chat with the owner and he told me that he is an ex-policeman from East London.

While waiting for our milkshakes, a couple from JHB stopped with these Harleys.  They are on holiday at Plet, but are on their way to Swellendam.  Just cruising around - MOOI BLY MAAR MOOI.

Ou Bees took a few kiekies inside and of the bathroom - very original

We nearly spend 2 hours sitting there and just had a look at the people.  Sometimes we just have to laugh at ourselves.

On the bike again on our way to Koedoeskloof.

main.php

Saw the sign, stopped and asked on of the guys taking kiekies of him and his lady friend to take one of us - now I also know where the place is.

main.php

Scenery close to Koedoeskloof.

main.php

I didn't see the sign Koedoeskloof - I only saw COLD BEER and followed it.

main.php

It is not since the other day we are re-cycling - it is from years gone by.....

main.php

And so the sun goes down in another day in Africa.

We had a nice stay with Eugene & Debbie - the place is clean, the food good and the beers are cold.  Thanks again Eugene & Debbie for making it a pleasure to stop over at Koedoeskloof.

Jupiter & Lynn also spend the night camping - was also nice to see them again.

That was day 9.  The rest to follow.
