This year enduro riding is high on the agenda and with fellow riders like Losper organizing one-after-the-other
killer rides things are just getting better. Losper's laaitie and a friend is in process of getting themselves ready
to participate in this years Roof of Africa enduro and with that we all benefit from some lessons with the Professionals.

One weekend we attended a "Roof training session" with Wild Will, William Gillitt, and boy was I out of my league!  ;D

Mountain passes like Babboons, Bushmen's, Mankulube and Welcome was on the list with long days of riding. At the
end of the first day the front sprocket on my KDX looked like this! And I did inspect it before we loaded the bikes for
the weekend thinking it looks slightly worn but will definitely finish another weekend at least.

Yes, this was no joke, the boys were up to some serious riding. For me it was a long shot and I felt spread thin.

My poor KDX boiled numerous times as a direct result of the fact that I was just unable to ride 'er properly.
At the end of day 2 there was more Lesotho mountain water in the engine than the original coolant mix.

Luckily Will was at hand to help when all seemed lost.

Some of us had to turn around since there was not enough time to complete the day's riding at the pace we were going.

This was a serious ride. With sunset on day 2 the group was still not back at the rendezvous point.
I was one of four riders to have taken the "easier" way round but even this was very adventurous.

The 3rd day of training was a special one-on-one with Will. We covered a short distance but learnt a lot
by riding up the well known Bushman's Pass which features frequently in the Roof of Africa routes since
it is so spectator friendly.

Here Losper is in the foreground with his son Ruan a bit further up the pass.

Don't be fooled by the pictures, this little track is seriously steep and slippery.

:imaposer: Maklik vir jou om te se... Hulle f*k my op!  ::)
