Jip, well-done julle 2, nou is ek eers kwaad vir myself dat ek nie maar Sat koers soontoe gevat het nie, anyone for a trip to verneukpan this weekend?? :ricky:

Excellent trip report - that mud and water wold have put a number of people off, well done.

nice one Rynet.......now i see what you and Mark got up to on the way home bliksem.....those mud pics look scary to me

when i see that kind of mud i just run out of skill.....and bravery....well done to the both of u

PS was nice to meet you guys in Kenhardt

Great adventure you 2, good you had a very experienced riding buddy Rynet.  Now you know modder, and 1200GS dont work too well. Myself and two other buddies battled 1hr50minutes to ride 1.8km last year. Modder is n bliksem. I suppose you had to clean out the mud between the front tyre and the "modder skerm" countless times. I found that the moment your front wheel no longer turns (due to the mud build-up) you go down ! NO control what so ever.

Great report, and thanks for sharing with us.

Sal jou weer raak ry iewerste :thumleft:
Groete

Lekker trip!  :thumleft:

Ek reken die woord 'Pan' moes 'n tip gewees het, maar selfs as mens weet hoe dit daar lyk is die versoeking groot om dit te probeer.

:thumleft:

Fantastic RR - well written, and what an adventure. I'm exhausted and that's just from reading it!

Now that's what I call adventure riding!!

Awesome you two!!  :thumleft:

Mud.....  The great equalizer....  Well done for riding it to you both!

I wonder how many of the more "experienced" WD's would have actually ventured on  further in these conditions? Well done to you both  :thumleft: , Rynet this is evidence of how dirty this sport really is  ;D Thanks for sharing (or warning)

gret RR... seems like we are in for a wet summer... every time those pans get that type of rain we have floods later on.

Hectic exhilarating ride you had.Makes some off our rides timid in comparison. :thumleft: :thumleft:

Thanks  :thumleft: Just spoke to my mechanic , he has done my 120 ,000 km service with all the oil changes etc . He says the back brake lever bent a bit and deactivated the braking system , but he corrected it and I now have brakes again . My front brake pads are fine , I just needed new back brake pads, but they were worn before the mud already . And of course my air filter was dirty and thus I needed new spark plugs also. The diff boot was loose ( thanks Mark Hardy for pointing this out ), but it was also just dirty and is fine now. So all in all nothing out of the ordinary . She is running perfect . Just waiting for tyre prices and a wash and she's ready for our next trip to Jansenville via Baviaans first week in Feb to visit Bie .  I tell you these GS 1200 's are durable  :thumleft:.  I must have fallen over a hundred times with her and only one fall needed cosmetic surgery to her. ( other than the pot covers) . But just in case I really must get those burglar bars from Chris L :thumleft:
