Hi Dogs
I am prepping for a trip down to the Drakensburg and Clarens between 01-05 May. Myself and the wife's first proper trip on a bike. Tar road 99%.
I commute with the Tiger quite regularly, sometimes reaching 1000km a week, and naively have not been concerned with a flat tyre, since help is not far away if I need it on my way to work or back home.
Now heading to the mountains, with paid for accommodation and anniversary plans at stake, I feel under prepared for a flat. nothing would be as romantic as heading back to Pretoria in the cab of a rollback...
Details:
2019 Triumph Tiger 800 XCX.
Tubed tyres.
No center stand.
Train of thought at the moment:
Purchase a tube patch kit + Tyre levers
Purchase CO2 cannisters with valve fitting. (Do these work or should I get a mini compressor?
Might have to macguiver a plan to get the wheel in the air before stripping.
Am I over thinking this?
I've had the bike for 20 000km and been lucky enough to never have a problem.
I am new to the 2-wheeled world, so any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Stephan
