Drained the oil last night and discovered aluminium shavings on the oil "siffie"
Also finer particals in the bottom of oil drip tray which is worrying.
Nothing in oil filter that I could see. Oil was not dirty otherwise.
Also checked the right side filter below clutch, it was clean.
Now I bought the bike a year ago and this is the first oil change, done 2500 km.
My question is, are there any known areas that could be problematic ie. Oil pump gear or clutch bolts rubbing against casing ?
I also noticed since day one that the engine was noisy when its cold and then the sound disappears, my 990 never did that so I was suspicious initially.
According to previous owner all services were done.
Current mileage is 31 000 km.
Any ideas where to look for visible damage ?
