Friday arrived and at 14:30 we were on our way to Angies G spot in Prince Alfred’s pass via Knysna forests. (I’m sure there is a speeding fine in the post)
As we arrived in Knysna the rain started and the fun began. Mud for Africa. My tire combo is a TKC in the front and a Heidenau at the back, all I can say is that I’m impressed, a great combo. I do admit of a overconfidence slide here and there but no offs.
Unfortunately I had to pack my camera away as the rain breathed new life into the forest as the dust melted off the ferns and trees it was beautiful .I thought I had stepped into the movie Avatar.
Eventually 15Km before Angies the rain stopped and the dust was back.
Friday night we had curry and marva pudding for grub and at R75 just for the curry I am saddened. Our bar bill was also inflated badly. Note to self DO NOT RUN TABS.
Harold the owner kept us entertained till one in the morning with his sharp wit and jokes and eventually we hit the sack.
Saturday we kicked out to Willowmore and as we arrived there a farmer brown at the garage asked us which way we were heading and we told him we taking the dirt road just before willowmore through to Steytlerville the Gertskraal rd/river which runs next to Biviaans mountains. S33 24.433 E23 51.246
Well the farmer brown told us they had two thunder storms last Thursday of over 50mm of rain and the road is damaged .Hell he was not wrong, I thought we road into Fuglys kakavlackte.
No photo as the camera was packed in shock and water proof bags an top box.
Sand, dams, rivers, crevices, trees ,mud and missing pieces of road rocks tested our abilities all the way.Anyone who likes techie shit go now before it dries up.
My partners and I did enjoy the road as it constantly changed.
Here a couple of photos of Angies.
