nice one guys! I enjoy this. not everyone is a enduro specialist with 100 years of racing behind them so I really like it when guys have a crack and learn and challenge themselves.

GSA's doing Baboons pass
People parachuting from the outa atmosphere
Dudes jumping off buildings/mountains with a greatcoat strapped to their backs and gliding down.
New land speed attempts in serious rocket propelled vehicles

and the list goes on with some serious adventure(adreliline) junkies out there,  if they did not do these adventure sports we would have nothing to debate if GSAs/GSs/1190s/990s could do such a trip around our camp fires.

ExploreSA and your crew, thanks for spicing up the forum  :thumleft: :thumleft:

And Edmund Hillary climbing Mount Everest... simply, because it was there

Respect for doing this!

Experience of a lifetime!!! Well done!!!  :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Looking forward to the remaining RR!!! :sip:

Certainly respect to everyone that even attemted this!! But of course, no man can ride Baboons pass on a 1200GS unassisted. Fact.
Just like a 2 wheel drive bakkie cannot do the De Doorns 4x4 trail.

No shame in that, it just falls too far outside the vehicles design parameters.

Then why are we unpopular for saying this? Why delete posts? Ai ai.

This must have been hard work, yet the irony is not lost on me. When Johnathan September tries to dice the ferrari in his 1982 "stveplate" Skyline, we laugh at him.
When a GS is taken where plastics play, no laughter but "respect".

Go figure.

+ 1

You cannot but respect these guys (and their wallets) for attempting and basically succeeding in their quest. I think it added great value to this forum in terms of expanding adventure boundaries, entertainment value and maybe some healthy debate.

What I don't understand is why there seem to be a huge objection and a lot of negativity shown towards the so called negative posts... c'mon, what happened to freedom of opinion... since when do we all have to agree on something?   ???:pot:

Anyway, we are all looking forward to see more and once again - well done gents and respect... :3some:

The complaint was about bashing the ride on this thread... the RR. Nothing stops anyone to voice an opinion about the ride, and trash it if you wish, but then start a specific thread in the right board for it  :thumleft:

Here we want to read about the adventure

I agree with Jupiter that it is indeed not good style to bash a guy's RR, but in this case with the RR being started off by saying that a GS "can without a doubt" do Baboons, opens the
OP up to criticism.
If you give a single rider a GS/A and him alone ride it up Baboons, without help, then rider and bike has done it.

I am sorry, ExploreSA, I know lots of people see me as pedantic for not letting go, but fact is fact. Given enough hands, anything can be taken up anywhere. What is the point, except that is a personal fun thing for the guys involved. No problem with the fun part, but CLAIMS deriving from that should be carefully uttered.
