Baviaans closed due to flood damage. July 2011

I heard on the news this morning (2011/07/18) that the Baviaans route is closed to all traffic except properly kitted 4x4's travelling in pairs

This is due to severe flood damage.

Apparently the cost to fix the road is prohibitive and there is no estimate to when it will be fixed.

I see nothing in today's "Die Burger"

Anybody have any more news on this?
