Ben McDhui is very much a “each man to himself” gig, particularly on the way up, you can’t be feeling guilty.  You need focus and momentum if you want a clean run at it.
You must have become aware of the adrenaline rush once you get to the top, there is no time for you to “wind down”.  Keep it coming, this has me on the edge of my seat.

You're absolutely correct. Would be a much easier ride with a clean run and no picking up bikes along the way..........but it was all part of the experience and bonded our group in the end.

Just to add to my comment above, it’s not like you’re leaving anyone behind; the way up is the way down.

We wanted everyone in the group on the summit, so "leaving someone behind" was not an option

Next morning after an early breakfast we head out to Volunteershoek Pass

For sure, well that was an epic group effort.  Well done all, particularly the pillion couple on the GS.  Respect.

The descent was fairly gnarly. Me inflating tyres to 3 bar that morning didn't help either..... :peepwall:

This is one of my favourite photos of the trip. Reflects the way we rode for most of the trip..... Righard and me stopping to  take photos and James & Karen sweeping
