Hi guys and gals,
I trust all is good in SA.
My brother who lives in Dunnottar, Springs had a quote from BMW motorcycles today, to do the 60000km service on his 1150GS, and they came back with R3500 plus R500 for incidentals....
The work would include "ribbed generator belt, oil, drive shaft oil, fuel filter, oil filter, spark plugs and labour"
Now the bike is not under guarantee anymore, and he is quite happy to go over to the dark side, to use a regular, honest and capable bike shop and mechanic, in order to save some money.
He previously paid 1/4 of the price for the front brake pads etc from Van Breda Motorcycles, ending up with Ferodo pads up front, which he is happy with.... which sounds like a good idea to me.
SO... The question tonight is, any recommendations for a more affordable bike shop to do the 60k service for him, hopefully within a 150km radius around Springs??
Any advice much appreciated.
