This is just a quick video drop of our trip to Maraisburg. We planned on hitting the dunes but one of the guys in our party smashed his foot on a rock and we had to rush to the hospital.

Turns out he broke it pretty bad and went in for an operation on that evening, but needless to say we still had a good ride. He's out for 3 months. Ouch.

Full ride report will come up soon on our website Next Weekend and on the forum.

Best quote?
Nurse: "The rock fell on you?"
Koos: "No I fell on the rock."

edit: managed to embed the video.

Yeah it is a pity - we had a big trip planned in December and he's out now.

Onetime: hehe yes we know... but we like putting the bikes through their paces.

Wow, nice video and good riding.  :thumleft:

Cool video, you do know the F800GS is not a MX bike.

Dunno hey, they looked like they handled themselves quite well ;)

Awesome video, pity bout the broken foot! :(

:ricky: Maraisburg is one of my favorite places to play... Awesome vid...

Strongs with foot!!  :thumright:

Ouch!

The Boots - Gaerne XR's? I have a pair and I sometimes wonder if they are too soft around the ankle?

Strongs for the foot - get well soon!

"Hi jack-on"
Feel the "softer Adventure boots" is all good and well, until the bike falls on your ankle/foot... I mean the Gearnes XR and BMW Sandiego boots are an expensive, excellent touring boot... was trapped under the GSA twice, and the R1700.00 Thor mx boots protected the ankle/foot that I continued...

So yes Turtle, I share your thoughts...  :peepwall:

"Hi jack-off"

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Yeah the boots are GAERNE, but not sure which one specifically.

The F800's are amazing bikes - what we love about them is that they get you to the place you want to go ride at (without putting the bikes on a trailer) and you get to play around in the technical stuff. Sure, there are some of the parts you can't do, but it might be for more lack of skill on our part. I think this type of riding would be pretty hectic on a bigger bike, like a 1200.

The enduro tracks aren't necessarily part of our normal rides, but it really helps to get to know the bikes better and push our limits as well. Plus it's 15 minutes from our house!

Exactly, but the 1200 is also capable of riding on Maraisburg... Some evidence

If you are going out to play, sent an invite on the planned ride section, the Military Fuel Tanker wasn't on Maraisburg yet . . .  :pot:

Nice one Alwyn - good to see some of the bigger bikes doing their thing there. I reckon it's a great place to learn how to handle your bike in rougher stuff.

Next time we go there will be invites.

Nice video report, well done on those big bikes!

Hope the foot heals okay
