"Boom Shakalaka" what is this all about? hold your hats, I will get back to this later. :biggrin:

This is a 6 day trip that would go thru the Richtersveld, Namakwaland and the Tankwa karoo. Since we have been in these areas many times before we set out to look for the lesser (un)known paths and twee spoor tracks as far as possible.

So we trailered our bikes from Bloemfontein, Kimberley and Potchefstroom all the way to Klein Pella guest farm.
Riders as follows:
[member=26209]bitblade[/member]    Husky 701
[member=5100]Twister[/member]    Africa Twin
Chris          Africa Twin
Rudolph    Africa Twin
Myself        Africa twin
The vehicles were left at Klein Pella and we set off.

Day 1 Klein Pella to Vioolsdrif
At about 70km from Klein Pella we turned off from the gravel road onto a very sandy "twee spoor". On this path Chris took a slow speed (around 40km/h) tumble on a very sandy section. He fell in such a way that the pannier rack broke his ankle. This was a blow, so close to the start on day one but hey, accidents happen. His brother Rudolph joined him and they returned to Klein Pella and on to the hospital in Kimberley. So it was game over for them and that left only myself, [member=5100]Twister[/member] and [member=26209]bitblade[/member]

So the next interesting section was the dry river bed section called Camghab. The Camghab river has extremely deep and dry sand and with lots of loose rocks in and just under the sand. It kept us busy for a while. From there we rode to the Camghab lookout point. The look out point in itself is not so spectacular but the "road" leading to is is stunning.
We took the Namakwa 4x4 route from there to Vioolsdrif where I pre arranded for fuel at the Frontier tented camp and then on to Orange River Rafter lodge where we stayed for the night.
