I received another unexpected blessing today.

Aldred Marais of Sharwoods Fitment Centre in PE, contacted me today and informed me that they are sponsoring me with a new set of Dunlop Trailmax Missions, which will be fitted next week.

Thank you is all I can say.

Aldreds a legend  :thumleft:

10 Dec 2021

New tyres day for Matilda.

As, so generously offered, Aldred of Sharwoods Fitment centre, came through and Matilda was waiting for her new treads and then operated on.

When I put the first set of Dunlop Trailmax Missions on, they were suggested by Lorraine of Allan Lewis Motorcycles, and I think that was the 5th of May 2021, Matilda was on 115 699 km. Today, she is on 135 187 km. These tyres have done 19 488 km, and looking at them I could very well have gotten at least another 3 to 4000 km out of them. These tyres have really been put to the test on my journey and they will remain my first choice for go-to tyres.

I am truly humbled and grateful for this blessing which has been bestowed on me.

Apart from the fact that I truly believe in these tyres, I have to salute some people who have played a part in this, Shaune of Dunlop, David Catchpole, Lorraine Lewis, Paul at ALM, who is the only man allowed to tend to Matilda and then Aldred and his team. Please support them, good people deserve good things to happen, my journey has been an absolute verification of that.

Matilda was back at home, ready to be put back together and loaded for the next adventure chapter for The Brandon Bosch Foundation, a trip which will start this coming week.

Who knows where?

Before I continue with the RR, I need some help, I know the web is there, but you get a lot more done when someone knows someone. And I have until Tuesday next week to get it all done. I am not looking for charity, just help, please.

1. A new set of Wild at Heart crash bar bags, mine were slightly damaged in a fall and the sun did the rest of the damage.
2. The connection mechanism of my tank bag which disappeared somewhere in Zambia.
3. A simple connection piece for my windscreen, BMW want to charge over R2000 for a whole set I do not need.
4. A headlight protection screen for a 2011 GSA.

These items are not readily available in PE, and you can ask the question, why wait until the last minute, well, I did not know I was going anywhere, but now I am. I am going to circumnavigate Lesotho, which I have traveled through 3 times, now I am going around, all the way and then maybe do the same for Swaziland. Who knows?

I stopped when I saw some structures in the distance, could not really make out what they were, but I did not have time to go and find out. It was around 3 in the afternoon and I did not want to get to Solitaire too late, as I had not booked and was not sure if I would have to put up tent if there were no rooms available.

When you travel these parts of Namibia, you are actually overwhelmed by the beauty of the surrounding area, and you want to so desperately share the whole experience through your photos, but they can never truly convey the splendour, you can only try.

And that damn right hand spot, which I never noticed when transferring the photos, irks me to no end.

Desert Camp at Solitaire, but I will not be camping tonight.

The whole atmosphere of the area changes as the sun starts setting.

Who knows?

What will the cost be for Item 1-4 ??
working on this - I THINK his deadline is tomorrow - unsure, because in an e-mail sent Friday, he says he plans to leave Tuesday next week - if so, time is short.
[member=13165]DASKOP[/member] - please confirm if you are leaving tomorrow, Tuesday?
But will assist where we can - that tank bag BASE is discontinued, cannot even get the WHOLE replacement parts. but trying.
More later
