I was temporarily stranded about 30 kms north of Brits on Friday.
Staalvarkies' throttle cable decided to break in the middle of %^&%*
nowhere.
Fortunately it gave way right up at the throttle housing so I was able to make a plan.
This is what I did:
I threaded the end of the cable through a large ring that I removed from my bunch of keys, pulling it tight and knotting it with my Leatherman.
Taped the cable to the outside of my handgaurd and then used cable ties & ducktape to fasten the ring to the throttle grip.
The arrangement worked pretty well and I maneged to get the bike to Auto Alpina on Saturday morning.
BTW my mileage is 48K but apparently it can happen anytime, apparently dust chews the cables.
Any other 1150 riders had a similar thing happen ??
