I read this report this morning between 3 and 4 and it has been going through my mind the whole day. I thought of a thousand replies, but they all seemed far too soppy - I mean, with me not knowing you and being sober and all...

I will summarise in two points:
1) You're a legend (I am still learning off road, so that trip is epic, in my book)
2) Keep that girl (even if only to remind you to pack the puncture kit next time)

Excellent RR this, great photo's and absolutely impossible to explain what it's like to be on a bike in snow ... it can be so cold that you can't hear yourself think!

Trivia: the old guns on the wall in the Rhodes Hotel were hidden under the floorboards in the bar during the Boer War ... only came to light when they redid some flooring.
